Needle Guide

As per our research, many traditional needle guides during a biopsy, which may cause ultrasound probe. r Needle Guide is designed stable throughout the procedure and helps prevent contact with the probe. This reduces the risk of damaging the probe or tearing the probe cover, which contains ultrasound gel, avoiding leakage inside the patient and improving comfort and safety.

InnoFine Needle Guide is the demanding consumables in our Prostate Cancer Test Kit. Being the best and the most affordable freehand transperineal needle guide in UK, this represents a significant leap forward in prostate biopsy technology.

Based on our findings, by supporting stable needle guidance and reducing repeated probe handling, the InnoFine Needle Guide helps maintain procedural hygiene. This contributes to safer biopsy conditions while supporting patient comfort throughout the procedure.

This innovative guide is engineered to provide a more accurate, cost-effective, and safer alternative to traditional prostate biopsy methods, enhancing precision and patient outcomes.

The InnoFine needle guide is compatible with most popular Ultrasound machines used in NHS Trusts & private medical organisations and is recommended by top surgeons and urologists globally.

What is the InnoFine Needle Guide?

The InnoFine Needle Guide is a high-precision medical device designed to attach securely to ultrasound probes. Its primary function is to direct biopsy needles, ablation needles, or catheters along a predictable, fixed path within the ultrasound image, ensuring the instrument stays in the scanning plane for optimal visualisation.

InnoFine guides are compatible with major ultrasound brands (such as GE, Philips, Mindray, and Siemens). These disposable needle guides are sterile, single-use kits designed to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and minimise preparation time.

What are the uses of the Needle Guide?

The InnoFine needle guide is essential for procedures where accuracy is critical. By stabilising the needle, it allows clinicians to hit small or deep targets with confidence.
  • Biopsy Procedures: Used extensively for prostate (transrectal/transperineal), liver, kidney, thyroid, breast, and lymph node biopsies.
  • Reproductive Medicine (IVF): Specifically used for transvaginal ovum pick-up (egg retrieval).
  • Fluid Aspiration & Drainage: Assists in the safe draining of cysts, abscesses, and pleural effusions.
  • Tumor Ablation: Guides RF or microwave ablation needles directly into tumor sites.
  • Anesthesia & Pain Management: Ensures precise delivery of nerve blocks by guiding the needle to the exact nerve location.

How to use the InnoFine Needle Guide?

  • Step 1: Preparation Prepare the Probe: Apply ultrasound gel to the transducer and cover it with a sterile probe cover.
  • Step 2: Attachment Align & Snap: Align the InnoFine guide with the locating features on the transducer handle. Lock in Place: Press the guide firmly until it clicks or clamps securely onto the probe. Ensure it is stable and does not wobble.
  • Step 3: Needle Selection Select Gauge: Choose the correct needle gauge insert (eg.,15G, 16G, 18G) that matches your biopsy needle. Insert: Place the gauge insert into the guide channel (if using a multi-gauge bracket).
  • Step 4: Procedure Activate Guidelines: Turn on the biopsy guideline software on your ultrasound machine. Insert Needle: Insert the needle into the guide’s channel. Advance: Advance the needle while watching the screen. The needle will follow the predicted guideline path to the target.
  • Step 5: Detachment (Quick-Release) Release: Once the needle is at the target site, if you need to remove the probe while leaving the needle in place, use the Quick-Release mechanism. Remove Guide: Unclamp the guide from the transducer and dispose of it (if disposable) or prepare it for sterilization (if reusable).

FAQs

InnoFine offers a wide range of custom-molded guides designed to fit specific transducer models from major manufacturers, including GE, Philips, Siemens, Mindray, Samsung, and Toshiba.

We offer both options to suit your facility’s protocols.

  • Disposable Guides: Come in sterile, single-use kits for maximum infection control and convenience.
  • Reusable Guides: Made from high-grade stainless steel, these can be sterilized (autoclaved) repeatedly, offering a durable and cost-effective solution for high-volume clinics.

Yes. Many InnoFine brackets are designed with a multi-gauge capability or come with varying gauge inserts (e.g., 16G, 18G, 20G, 22G). This allows clinicians to switch needle sizes during a procedure without removing the guide from the probe.

Using an InnoFine guide mechanically stabilizes the needle, forcing it to travel along a fixed path that aligns perfectly with the ultrasound software’s guidelines. This eliminates needle deflection, ensures the needle tip remains visible on the screen at all times, and significantly reduces the learning curve compared to the freehand technique.

The reusable stainless steel guides are designed to withstand high-level disinfection and sterilization methods. They are fully autoclavable (steam sterilization). After use, the guide should be manually cleaned to remove debris, rinsed, and then autoclaved according to the standard parameters provided in the Instructions for Use (IFU).
